Puerto Ricans are Americans

When finding out about the ignorant and racist comments towards Marc Anthony singing "God Bless America" during the All-Star Game, I was appalled and heartbroken. Being Puerto Rican myself, I am proud of my heritage, but I'm also proud of being an American. What these people don't seem to understand is that Puerto Ricans were given American citizenship and is a U.S commonwealth. We follow U.S laws, use U.S currency, and the only way to get a good job even in Puerto Rico is to be bilingual. I would have assumed that living in the 21st century, we'd be way passed racism. Sadly I was mistaken.
