I was in Middle School when I was first introduced to Sherlock Holmes by one of my friends after he noticed that I was a huge fan of the Disney film, The Great Mouse Detective. Before that, I have heard of the great detective himself but I never knew he was only a fictional character created by one brilliant author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He began telling me about the 1984 series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes starring Jeremy Brett and David Burke as Victorian London's dynamic duo.

He lent me the first season, which he had on DVD and I was hooked from then on. It was the beginning of my High School career that I introduced myself to Conan Doyle's stories. My father actually asked me if I read anything else since I always checked out the Sherlock Holmes books. That is if I wasn't reading Michael Crichton's (sp?) Jurassic Park, Lost World: Jurassic Park (both really good books by the way), or any Stephen King books (some advice: DO NOT READ IT AT NIGHT!).

Years later, I realized that there was an earlier series of Sherlock Holmes starring Basil Rathborne (whom also, I found out many years later, did the voice of Sherlock Holmes in The Great Mouse Detective and that they named the mouse version of the great detective after him) and Nigel Bruce. I can actually say that this was the only thing in black and white that I did not fall asleep to. It was simply outstanding.

Then of course, we all know about the 2009 film directed by Guy Ritchie starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law whom in my opinion (I know others will say otherwise), did an amazing job with these two memorable roles. I was not disappointed at all.

Finally, we come to the new 21st century series version of the duo in BBC-One's Sherlock, which sadly has only given us three outstanding episodes. Also, please tell me that I am not the only one who thinks that Cumberbatch and Freeman are both HOT! I'm serious, with every new Holmes feature, they just get more and more attractive !

So anyways, I decided to create this as a dedication to not only these memorable characters whom we all know and love, but also to the talented men who, in their own way, brought them to life. Hope you like it. Also please comment.
